Fire crews are investigating what caused a downtown building to catch fire.
The fire broke out at about 10:45 p.m. Monday at a building located at 1536 Republic Street in Over-the-Rhine.
A fire captain told News 5 that the building was boarded up when they arrived and that they believe the building was vacant.
2-Alarm Fire Breaks Out At Vacant OTR Building
By the time a second alarm was called, firefighters switched to a defensive stance and flames could be seen shooting out the top of the three-story building.
As of 11:50 p.m., fire crews said that fire was extinguished, but that they could not enter the building due to hot spots.
No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation.
