BERNALILLO, N.M. (AP) -- A fire burning in a wooded area along the Rio Grande was expected to be 80 percent contained by Saturday night, a state Forestry Division spokesman said.

Dan Ware said the 82-acre River's Edge Fire flared up briefly Friday evening before rain dampened the blaze.

Firefighting forces were reduced Saturday to four engines and two hand crews that will monitor the blaze, which is burning within the fire lines, he said.

The blaze did not threaten homes.
