VACAVILLE, Calif. (AP) -- A car crash caused one of two fires that was burning near Vacaville on Wednesday night as police sought two men who fled a van involved in the accident.

The first fire started around 5:30 p.m. after a collission between a U-Haul van and car. One person was taken by helicopter to a hospital, according to the Vacaville Reporter. Solano County Sheriff's investigators found a body near the fire, but have not classified it as a homicide. No other details were available about the body.

A bloody blanket and wheelbarrow were also found in the back of the van, which was found nearly a mile away from the original collision, the newspaper said. The driver and another man were wanted for questioning.

Less than an hour after the first fire, a second blaze started nearby and the area became a crime scene.

``It's not your average wildland fire out here,'' said Bob Powell of Solano County's Office of Emergency Services.

The first fire was close to being contained late Wednesday night while the second fire had burned more than 150 acres. Hundreds of fire personnel were on the scene.

There were no mandatory evacuations in the area but people in 40 homes were told to be ready to leave.

Also, the French Gulf fire in Northern California had burned more than 10,700 acres as of Wednesday night and was 35 percent contained, according to the CDF. That blaze was expected to be fully contained by Friday night.
