CAVE CREEK, Ariz. (AP) -- A wildfire burning in rough forest terrain north of here was 90 percent contained by Tuesday.

The New fire, which was burning brush and grassland in the Tonto National Forest, had charred about 1,200 acres.

Fire officials had said the fire burned 1,250 acres on Monday, but downgraded the acreage after they were able to map the area better, said Emily Garber, a Tonto National Forest spokeswoman.

``It's looking real good,'' she said.

Fire officials expect full containment by Wednesday.

No structures were threatened.

The lightning-sparked fire was spotted Saturday.
