PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) -- Firefighters from northern California and Utah are in Arizona, prepared to help local firefighters at the start of another wildfire season.

Officials in the Prescott National Forest sought their help as the fire danger climbed from very high to extreme in the region.

Two of the out-of-state crews brought with them large fire engines to assist in the potential firefighting efforts, Prescott forest officials said.

``Our hope is that they will not have to respond to any incidents,'' said Tony Sciacca, district fire management officer at the Prescott Fire Center. But ``it is great to have them here for a quick response.''

As fire conditions change, the crews may return to their home states or go to other states, depending on where the extreme danger is.
