HANNAGAN MEADOW, Ariz. (AP) -- A 10,500-acre wildfire burning in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest was threatening 15 buildings Friday as firefighters conducted burnout operations nearby, authorities said.

Twelve of the buildings are part of a U.S. Forest Service administrative complex. Two are in a maintenance yard. The last one is an outhouse at a campground, said Apache-Sitgreaves spokeswoman Kim Kuhar.

The buildings were not in imminent danger, said Bob Dyson, a fire spokesman for the U.S. Forest Service.

The fire was 25 percent contained as 527 firefighters worked to burn out the southern flanks of the blaze Friday.

The fire is located about three miles south of Hannagan Meadow in the Blue Range Primitive Area.

The KP fire is under investigation, but authorities believe it was caused by an abandoned campfire.
