PHOTOS: NC Firefighters Tackle Huge House Fire

Thirty-five firefighters from three Nash County fire departments fought the blaze for more than an hour and a half over the weekend.

Three North Carolina fire departments battled a large house fire over the weekend.

It took 35 Nash County firefighters more than an hour and a half to get the fire in Whitakers under control Sunday night. Crews stayed on the scene to deal with hot spots and overhauling.

The residents weren't home at the time, and no firefighters were hurt in the blaze. The house was a total loss, and the fire is under investigation.
