Ten People Killed in TX Plane Crash

Ten people aboard a flight bound for St. Petersburg, FL, died Sunday when a private plane crashed into a hangar at an airport north of Dallas.

Ten people aboard a flight bound for St. Petersburg died Sunday when the private plane crashed into a hangar at an airport just north of Dallas, Tex.

Authorities said there were no survivors.

Edward Martelle, a spokesman for the town of Addison, TX, told CNN that a private plane was leaving the airport and veered into the hangar before bursting into flames Sunday morning shortly after 9 a.m. local time.

According to Flight Aware, an online flight tracking service, a Beechcraft BE-350 King Air with the tail number N534FF was scheduled to depart from the Addison airport at 9:21 this morning, with a scheduled arrival at Albert Whitted Airport at 1:18 p.m.

The identities of the victims had not been released by Sunday evening.

On Twitter, the National Transportation Safety Board said it was sending a team to investigate the accident. A statement from the Federal Aviation Administration said the agency was also heading to Addison to investigate.
