NJ Firefighter Suffers Medical Emergency at Fire Scene

A 64-year-old Landisville firefighter was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition after experiencing a “medical condition” at a fire in Gloucester County.

A firefighter is hospitalized after battling a Wednesday morning house fire in Gloucester County.

Emergency responders arrived at a home on the 2000 block of Forest Grove Road in Franklin Township around 7:45 a.m. and found the structure engulfed in flames, according to township police.

A 64-year-old firefighter from the Landisville Fire Company was taken to Inspira Medical Center Vineland after experiencing a “medical condition” at the scene, police said.

He remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

Firefighters were able to douse the flames and determined that no one was home at the time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by police, Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and the county fire marshal.

Departments from Gloucester, Atlantic and Cumberland counties responded to fight the fire.
