Florida firefighters used an airplane to put out the flames caused by a fatal fuel tanker crash Sunday.
The accident happened around 3 a.m., Gainesville Fire-Rescue said in an online statement. A tanker carrying 6,800 gallons of fuel was making a U-turn when it was hit by a sedan, the Gainesville Sun reports.
The sedan's driver was killed in the accident. Authorities told the Sun that the driver of the tanker was OK and helped investigators at the scene.
In order to extinguish the blaze, an airplane dropping foam was sent out while firefighters attacked the flames on the ground, according to WFOR-TV.
The crash is currently under investigation.
