A Maryland firefighter was injured while battling a blaze at group of two-story townhouses early Friday.
Anne Arundel County crews responded to the fire, which broke out just before 2 a.m. in Severn, the department said. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they could see flames coming through of two townhouses in the middle of a group of homes, with the fire threatening nearby units.
More than 45 firefighters from Anne Arundel County, as well as three other fire departments, worked to put out the balze, according to the department. It took crews about 45 minutes to get the flames under control.
A firefighter was taken to the hospital in good condition with a medical-related issue, the department said. Paramedics were able to identify the issue at the scene while the firefighter was in the rehab process.
The fire displaced 10 townhouse residents, and the cause is under investigation.
