New York firefighters battled back-to-back blazes early Thursday.

Rochester crews first responded to a two-alarm house fire at about 1:15 a.m., WHAM-TV reports. The residents were able to safely escape the fire, and firefighters needed around 40 minutes to control the blaze.

Before firefighters were finished at the house blaze, another fire erupted at a boarded-up home. Once at the scene, crews encountered heavy flames, and the house's roof collapsed, making the fire harder to put out.

Firefighter extinguished the blaze after a little more than an hour. Officials told WHAM that they didn't think anyone had been trapped inside.
