Dallas Firefighter Burned During 2-Alarm Commercial Blaze

As many as 50 firefighters worked for nearly four hours to extinguish a large blaze that broke out in a vacant one-story structure in northwest Dallas.

A Dallas firefighter was injured during a two-alarm blaze at a vacant commercial building Wednesday.

Crews responded to a fire at a one-story structure in northwest Dallas shortly before 11:30 p.m., the department said in a release. The blaze was already into advanced stages when firefighters arrived, and it quickly escalated, with flames shooting through the roof.

As many as 50 firefighters battled the blaze for nearly four hours, according to the department. 

One firefighter was burned during the incident and taken to the hospital. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, and he has been released from the hospital, the department said.

No civilians were injured, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
