Baltimore City Firefighter Injured in 2-Alarm Blaze

Residents were able to escape after a three-story rowhouse caught fire and spread to two neighboring homes before Baltimore City firefighters were able to get it under control.

A Baltimore City firefighter was injured battling a two-alarm rowhouse blaze Wednesday.

The fire broke out shortly after 4 p.m. in north Baltimore, the department said in an online update. When crews arrived at the scene, heavy smoke and flames were coming from a three-story rowhouse, and the fire eventually spread to two nearby house, which were occupied. All the residents were able to safely escape.

Details weren't released concerning how a firefighter was injured or his condition. But the department said the firefighter's injuries weren't life-threatening.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control shortly before 4:50 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
