One person was killed, two others were flown to area hospitals with serious injuries, and over 40 residents were displaced after a massive 3-alarm fire in Lowell early Wednesday morning.
NBC Boston is reporting that the fire at 98 Westford St. broke out overnight at around 3:30 am and spread to two nearby buildings, and Lowell fire crews had to cope with temperatures in the teens for several hours during the firefight.
News video from WCVB showed a portion of one dwelling's roof collapsing while firefighters worked to douse the flames.
