With a deep freeze settling over many parts of the United States, including unprecedented ice and snow blanketing portions of the south and southwest, the Great Bend, KS, Fire/EMS Department posted details of a rescue from last weekend along with an incredible photo of the helmet.

According to the Facebook post, Great Bend firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames at a residential house fire early this past Sunday around 3:49 am amid a minus-4 temperature and -14 wind chill.
