A Buffalo firefighter likely suffered a concussion when he was struck by a metal grate, and another firefighter was burned during the three-alarm fire.

One New York firefighter was knocked unconscious and another was burned battling a three-alarm fire that collapsed the roof of a combination bowling alley Tuesday.

The fire broke out just before 11 a.m. at the Bowl-Inn Bowling Center in Buffalo, the Buffalo News reports. Multiple large propane tanks were on the roof when it collapsed, and at least one fell into the building when the roof collapsed. Crews doused the tanks to prevent them igniting, according to WGRZ-TV.

During the call, a firefighter was knocked unconscious and suffered a concussion when a metal grate fell on his head, the News reports. He was pulled out of the building by his colleagues after firefighters were told to fall back because of deteriorating conditions.

Another firefighter suffered minor burns while battling the fire. Both firefighters were taken to the hospital, and no details were released on their condition, according to WKBW-TV.

The officials cause of the fire has been determined. According to fire officials, roofers had been working on the bowling alley's roof when the fire started, but it's unclear if their work had anything to do with igniting the blaze, WGRZ added.
