The incident happened at a residential fire when a vehicle ran over a hoseline and drove off as a Hagerstown firefighter was connecting it to an apparatus.

A Maryland firefighter was injured after being struck by a hoseline that was run over by a vehicle during a fire call Tuesday.

The incident happened just before 4:30 p.m. as Hagerstown crews responded to a kitchen fire at a home, The Herald-Media reports. A man was taken to the hosptial after suffering burns that weren't considered life-threatening as he tried to put out a cooking-related fire.

During the call, a firefighter began connecting a hoseline to an apparatus outside. That's when a vehicle ran over the hose, causing it to strike and injure the firefighter.

The injury didn't require the firefighter to be taken to the hospital. The vehicle did not stop after running over the hoseline, and anyone with information about the incident should contact Hagerstown police.
