Raw video captured a Rochester firefighter using some of his downtime to help put out a boat fire Irondequoit Bay thanks to his jet ski.

An off-duty New York firefighter used some of his downtime and a jet ski to help put out a boat fire last week.

The Rochester Fire Fighters Association IAFF, Local 1071, posted a video of firefighter Oscar Herrera spinning his watercraft in tight circles to splash water on a smoking boat in Irondequoit Bay. The inventive off-duty firefighting happened May 20 at Mayer’s Marina, WHAM-TV reports.

Editor's note: The video includes brief explicit language. Viewer discretion is advised.

"Sometimes off duty, but always a firefighter," the union stated.

Herrera's actions are similar to a May 9 incident in Florida. A jet skier in Tampa spun his watercraft in circles to push a burning boat closer to firefighters after flames destroyed a line keeping it close to shore.
