Las Vegas Firefighters Pull Person from Apartment Fire

Las Vegas firefighters split crews to work fire attack and search operations when an occupant was reported inside a burning apartment.

Firefighters rescued an unresponsive person from an apartment fire Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the two-story apartment building on E. Bonanza Road at 12:16 p.m. Sunday, May 30 and multiple 9-1-1 callers reported a person who was trapped inside the building.

Smoke was showing from a first floor unit and firefighters began putting water on the fire while simultaneous efforts included search, according to PIO Tim Szymanski. 

Firefighters found heavy fire in the bedroom where the located the victim and brought them outside to began medical treatment. They were transported to University Medical Center where they were listed in critical condition.  

Firefighters had the fire under control in 15 minutes and contained it to the unit of origin.

A second occupant of the apartment was also taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
