NY Firefighter Injured During House Fire

A firefighter suffered an eye injury from falling slate shingles while battling a fire that damaged a house in the Mount Pleasant section of Schenectady.

SCHENECTADY, NY—A late Tuesday afternoon fire damaged a home in Mont Pleasant and led to an injury to a firefighter, according to information from the scene.

The firefighter suffered an eye injury due to falling slate shingles, according to the information at the scene. An update wasn't immediately available Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were called to the home at 1116 Willett St. just after 4 p.m.

Flames could be seen coming from the home's attic window.
