The 10,000-square-foot Southlake home was once owned by NFL broadcaster Pat Summerall and suffered extensive damage in the fire.

Jul. 30—SOUTHLAKE — A fire destroyed a mansion Friday morning in Southlake, police spokesperson Brad Uptmore said.

At least part of the home collapsed before 6:30 a.m., according to KDFW TV.

After receiving reports about a structure fire, firefighters and officers were dispatched to the $2.9 million, 10,349-square-foot home in the 700 block of South White Chapel Boulevard around 5:30 a.m.

First responders found the residence in flames. The home was unoccupied, authorities said.

The mansion previously belonged to Hall of Fame NFL broadcaster Pat Summerall, according to Tarrant Appraisal District records.

Firefighters were on scene Friday morning extinguishing hot spots. The fire marshal's office is working to determine the cause and origin of the fire, Uptmore said.

Parts of South White Chapel will remain closed for approximately five to six hours, authorities said.
