An investigation by the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services office is underway after multiple garbage were trucks found on fire in the area of Waste Management on Hill Street in Norton on Monday morning.
Norton firefighters responded to the scene around 6 a.m. for a report of heavy smoke. Additional firefighters were also called to the area to help put out the flames, according to a statement from Norton Police Department.
A second alarm was also called to bring even more personnel to the scene and due to the work of the firefighters, no additional trucks were damaged after the fire department arrived. A total of 10 trucks were damaged, authorities said,
Responding crews were on the scene for about seven hours, according to officials, as they worked to remove burning trash from the trucks and ensure the fires were extinguished.
“Thank you to all of our mutual aid partners and local EMA personnel for providing rehab,” the statement from police said.
