Sept. 22, 2021
Pittsburgh fire crews assisted by pumping six to eight feet of water out of the subbasement of a Renaissance Hotel after a water main break.

Sep. 22—A water main break is flooding the basement of a Pittsburgh hotel Wednesday morning.

The break is at Fort Duquesne Boulevard and Barkers Way, a Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesperson said. The subbasement of the Renaissance Hotel Pittsburgh on Sixth Street was taking on water.

There was 6 to 8 feet of water in the subbasement, Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV reported.

Water was coming through the walls of the neighboring Byham Theater, but its basement had not flooded, the station reported.
