One person was injured after a plane that was carrying 21 passengers and crew members crashed just north of the Houston Executive Airport on Tuesday morning, officials said.
The MD-80 aircraft crashed about 8 a.m. in a field after it left the airport heading north, the Waller County office of emergency management said.
The county’s sheriff’s department said 19 passengers and three crew members aboard the plane exited safely but one person suffered minor injuries.
Aerial video showed smoke billowing from the plane and high flames near the crash. Firefighters were working to extinguish the blaze about 11 a.m.
