PA Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Furniture Factory Fire

Nov. 11, 2021
A drone captured great footage after firefighters were summoned Wednesday morning to a massive fire at a furniture manufacturer in Schuylkill County.

A Schuylkill County furniture factory suffered damage as fire consumed combustible products, including plastics used to manufacture furniture.

The fire Wednesday morning in Rush Township was visible for miles as thick black smoke filled the sky, causing fire officials to upgrade the fire to three alarms before any crews were on scene.

Firefighters located the main fire outside the rear of the structure and started fire control while checking the interior for extension.  Aerial ladders were used to control the fire and gain access to the roof to ventilate the building.

Due to the products of combustion, firefighters monitored air quality at nearby facilities to ensure the safety of the public.
