Fire Tears Through FL Family Honey Business

Nov. 24, 2021
Fire tore through the main production facility of Webb’s Honey in Orange County, devastating the family-run business on Wednesday morning.

Firefighters Wednesday morning put out a fire at Webb’s Honey, an Orange County farm and shop.

No injuries were reported.

At about 7:30 a.m., Orange County Fire Rescue responded to the call about the fire in Christmas along State Road 520.

When firefighters arrived, flames were through the roof, OCFR said.

At about 8:30 a.m. the fire was reported to be extinguished.

OCFR did not release any information about damage.

The State Fire Marshal will investigate.

Webb’s Honey began its unincorporated business in 2008 and has 1,000 hives, according to its website.

Owner David Webb moved to Florida in 1983 and after selling honey in bulk for 20 years opened his own retail business. Webb uses its hives around the state to make different honey crops throughout the year.
