FDNY firefighters worked overnight into Thanksgiving to battle a stubborn fire in a six-story apartment building in the Manhattan neighborhood of Inwood.
Firefighters were called for a fire on the roof of the u-shaped building at 74 Post Ave. just after 9 p.m.
The fire left three dozen families homeless, according to WABC.
Crews used saws to ventilate the roof as the fire spread through the cockloft of the building.
A fifth alarm was called summoning 198 firefighters to the scene.
On Jan. 5, the same building was the site of four-alarm fire that started on the top floor of the six-story building, according to Patch.
The renovations were apparent at Tuesday night's fire with many of the windows boarded up on the the A-wing of the building.
That fire was contained in close to four hours by 138 firefighters.
In March, several tenants of the building filed a lawsuit against the landlord for the failure to repair damage from the previous fire.
