Nov. 29—FORT WORTH — A fire raced through an apartment building in west Fort Worth early Monday, damaging at least 16 units in the complex, a fire official said.

But no residents or firefighters were injured in the blaze at the Cassidy Apartments.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

The fire was reported just before 3 a.m. Monday in the 8700 block of North Normandale Street.

Firefighters arrived and found heavy fire through a roof, but extinguished the blaze in about 45 minutes.

More than 40 tenants have been displaced because of the fire, authorities said.

Officials with the American Red Cross were on the scene assisting tenants.
