The fatal crash happened around 2:25 a.m. Thursday in Lower Mahanoy Township about 35 miles north of Harrisburg.

Pennsylvania State Police say Rebecca Wenrich was struck when she entered the road and stepped into the path of the fire truck, which was driven by a 26-year-old man.

Wenrich, of Dalmatia, was involved in the prior crash that the firefighters were responding to, according to PennLive.com.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said. Fire department officials have not commented publicly on the crash. There were no other injuries. State police said the roadway opened about six hours after the crash.
