15 Residents Displaced in San Francisco Fire

A two-alarm fire affecting three homes in the Bayview District has been contained by San Francisco firefighters, but 15 people have been displaced.

Oct. 10—A two-alarm fire affecting three homes in the Bayview District has been contained by San Francisco firefighters, but 15 people have been displaced, a fire department spokesman said.

The fire, in the 1900 block of Palou Ave., caused major damage to two homes and minor damage to one. It was reported at about 6:30 p.m.

Firefighters from two stations were called out to battle the blaze, which sent thick dark smoke into the sky, according to witnesses. No one was injured in the fire, authorities said. The American Red Cross was on its way to help those displaced by the fire.

The fire was contained at about 7:30 p.m. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
