Aid Township firefighters are training with a new tool they aquired through a grant.
“It’s called Turbo Draft. Its design is to move massive amounts of water force from limited water supply," Aid Fire Chief Matt Jenkins told WOWK.
He explained: “It can move up to 675 gallons a minute with max capacity. “It’s going to save so much time. We’re going to be able to set water aside our trucks where we’re limited on hydrants."
The chief said he first saw the tool on social media and researched it. Afterward, he applied and received a grant to purchase it and other equipment.
“We’re limited on three fire hydrants here to cover three townships. We cover all of north eastern Lawrence County, so we’re trucking water from wherever we can get it.”
