Early Tuesday morning, a Houston firefighter fell through the roof into the flames of a house fire.
According to Click2Houston, around 1:06 a.m. in the 5900 block of Glenhurst Drive near Martin Luther King Boulevard, the Houston Fire Department responded to a house fire and found heavy smoke and flames coming form the single-story home when they arrived on scene.
The response crews went onto the roof to cut ventilaiton holes because they intially had troubles getting inside due to window bars. The roof suddenly collapsed, sending one firefighter into the blaze.
The firefighter fell right into the heart of the fire, landed on his feet and attempted to evacuate. Crews located the firefighter, supressed the flames and completed extraction.
The firefighter was able to avoid any injuries, along with no civilians being hurt, and investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
