FDNY Firefighters, Baby Injured in 7-Alarm Bronx Blaze

Two FDNY firefighters and a civilian were injured in a three-alarm fire that broke out at a three-story house in the borough's Morrisania neighborhood early Monday.

A seven-alarm apartment fire early Monday in the Bronx injured six people, including a 9-month-old baby and five FDNY firefighters. Another fire in the Bronx also injured three, including two firefighters.

The two-story apartment blaze broke out at around 5 a.m., WPIX-TV reports. It was raised to a seven-alarm fire at about 8:15 a.m.

An infant boy suffered smoke inhalation in the blaze, and a civilian also was hurt. One of the five injured firefighters was hurt slipping on a wet fire escape.

The second large fire in the Bronx early Monday involved a three-story home in the borough's Morrisania neighborhood, according to WPIX. The blaze broke out just after 4:10 a.m., and was raised to a four-alarm fire at 6 a.m.

The FDNY firefighters suffered smoke inhalation-related injuries, which were not considered life-threatening, the TV station added.
