A California firefighter's helmet camera captured a burning house collapsing as crews battled the two-alarm house fire.

The blaze started just before 6 p.m. in the basement of the 100-year-old Fresno home, KSEE-TV reports. After firefighters arrived, the fire spread up through the walls and into the attic, with smoke consuming the structure, and flames erupting from the floor.

Firefighters worked quickly to put out the blaze, and even received help from a neighbor who climbed up to his roof and used his own water house to douse the flames. Three people inside the house, which didn't have smoke alarms, were able to escape the fire.

"Some of these older homes, if there was a significant amount of fuel load as that fire started to develop to increase that heat and ultimately went up and got into the attic, but you know underneath the basement that it typically unprotected structural members that is underneath there which makes it a hazard for firefighters going inside," Fresno Fire Capt. Robert Castillo told KSEE.

The fire destroyed house, and fire officials are investigating the cause, the TV station added.
