A man punched two St. Louis firefighters because he felt they were taking too long to extinguish his burning car Friday night, police said.

Crews responded to the vehicle fire just before 6 p.m. in the city's North St. Louis neighborhood, KMOV-TV reports. The blaze had started following an accident at Shreve and Natural Bridge avenues, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The man was taken into custody following the incident, but it's not clear if he had been charged in the alleged assault. The firefighters refused treatment at the scene, KMOV added.
