A Florida firefighter was hospitalized after he was struck by a falling object while battling a two-alarm blaze Sunday.

Jacksonville crews responded to the apartment complex fire at around 12:45 p.m., WJXT-TV reports. Flames from the roof and the trusses created challenges for firefighters, and a second alarm was struck shortly after 1 p.m.

While working to put out the blaze, a firefighter was injured by a falling debris and taken to the hospital, the department told WJXT. Details about how the firefighter was injured were not released, but the department's aerial video of the fire scene showed that much of the complex's had collapsed.

No other injuries were reported. Firefighters were able to get the blaze, which damaged about 20 units, under control by around 2:30 p.m., the TV station added.
