CA Firefighter Injures Back in Fall from Roof

The fall sent a Stockton firefighter to the hospital, and crews were able to safely evacuate several people from the house that caught fire early Wednesday.

A California firefighter was taken to the hospital after falling from the roof of a house while battling a residential blaze early Wednesday.

Stockton crews responded to the fire at about 4:45 a.m.at a home on East Marsh Street, KCRA-TV reports. Once at the scene, firefighters evacuated the house and got several people to safety.

A firefighter fell from the roof of the house working to put out the blaze, according to KOVR-TV. He suffered a back injury but is expected to recover.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
