Watch VA Firefighters Use Aerials to Attack 2-Alarm Blaze
Firefighters from more than 13 departments battled a two-alarm blaze that ignited at a Virginia restaurant early Thursday.
The fire started just after 1:30 a.m. at the Thirsty Camel in Norfolk, WAVY-TV reports. Firefighters quickly upgraded the blaze to two alarms, and crews from 13 departments responded to the call.
Units attacked the fire from above using aerials. Crews were able to control the blaze just after 3:45 a.m.
No one was inside the restaurant at the time, and no injuries were reported. The Thirsty Camel, a fixture in Norfolk's Ocean View area for more than five decades, had been closed to inside dining because of the state's stay-at-home order related to COVID-19, but the restaurant had been serving takeout orders.
