Two people are missing after a two-alarm blaze tore through a home early Monday.
The fire broke out at about 3:45 a.m. at a residence in La Jolla, KNSD-TV reports. When San Diego Fire-Rescue crews arrived, they found the house engulfed in flames, which caused collapses in two parts of the structure and partially brought down the roof in one area.
The department had 86 firefighters at the scene, with 10 pieces of apparatus and a helicopter. Crews had the blaze under control shortly after 5 a.m. and were able to keep it from spreading to nearby homes.
Firefighters were still searching for two people who were thought to be in the home, according to KNSD. Two other people were able to escape the burning residence, KGTV-TV reports.
No injuries were immediately reported from the fire, and the cause of the fire is under investigation, KNSD added.
