Two FDNY Firefighters Among Six Injured in Brooklyn Blaze

FDNY crews rescued four residents from a burning apartment building in the East New York section of Brooklyn, including a 4-year-old boy who was seriously injured.

Two FDNY firefighters were among six people injured in a residential blaze in Brooklyn early Monday.

The fire broke out shortly after 1:15 a.m. in an apartment building in the East New York section of Brooklyn, WABC-TV reports. Residents were screaming from windows, and crews went into rescue mode when they arrived at the scene.

Firefighters saved four people from the burning apartment, including a 4-year-old boy who was seriously injured. He was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital's burn unit.

Two firefighters, as well as two 37-year-old women and an 18-year-old man, also were taken to the hospital. They all suffered from smoke inhalation.
