Two FDNY firefighters were injured battling a four-alarm apartment fire in Manhattan on Tuesday.

Crews responded to the call at around 7 p.m. at a six-story building in the borough's Inwood section, WABC-TV reports. The fire broke out on the structure's top floor, and flames spread into the walls.

During the blaze, two firefighters suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital. No details were released on their conditions or the nature of their injuries.

Firefighters had the flames under control at about 10:45 p.m., according to WABC. Investigators determined that fire was accidental and electrical, caused by faulty hard-wiring, the FDNY said in an online update. A smoke alarm was in the apartment, but it was not activated.
