Cleveland Firefighter Injures Knee During Residential Fire

The fire at an unoccupied home in the city's Mount Pleasant neighborhood added to an already busy 36 hours for firefighters, according to the department.

A Cleveland firefighter was injured during a fire that tore through an unoccupied house early Thursday.

The fire broke out at about 1:30 a.m. at the empty residence in the city's Mount Pleasant neighborhood, WEWS-TV reports. The department's public information officer told the news outlet that the fire had caused around $10,000 in damage by the time crews were able to put out the flames.

One firefighter suffered a knee injury during the call and was taken to the hospital, the department stated in a social media post

It has been a busy 36 hours for Cleveland firefighters. Along with Thursday's fire, crews also responded to four structure fires, a car fire and a RV fire Wednesday, according to the department.
