Four New Jersey firefighters were injured battling a four-alarm fire that burned through the roof and melted the siding of an apartment building Wednesday.
The fire broke out at around 3:30 p.m. at an apartment complex in West Windsor Township, WPVI-TV reports. Flames from the fast-moving blaze could be seen shooting out of the side of the building before spreading to the roof, according to witnesses.
"They had heavy fire on arrival from the second and third floor and it quickly extended from there," West Windsor Township Police Lt. Mike McMahon told WPVI.
Around 200 firefighters worked for four hours to get the fire under control. Four firefighters suffered minor injuries during the call, but no details were released concerning the extent of the injuries.
The fire caused severe damage to the complex and 22 people were displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
