Los Angeles County firefighters battled a large fire that tore through multiple vehicles and spread to an apartment building early Wednesday.
Crews responded just before 12:45 a.m. to a call of a car fire in El Monte, OnScene TV reports. By the time they reached the scene, flames had moved through vehicles in an underground area and jumped to the above apartment building.
Firefighters were able to knock down the fire just after 1:20 a.m. No injuries were reported, and it wasn't known at the time how much damage was done to the apartment building.
The fire displaced three adults and three children, and its cause is under investigation.
