Crews battled a three-alarm fire that raged at a 100-year-old lumber yard early Friday.
The fire erupted shortly after midnight at an American Lumber warehouse in Modesto, according to an online update by the fire department. Initially, firefighters responded to a trash fire near the yard, but when they reached the scene, they saw flames near the warehouse.
Over 60 firefighters worked to put out the flames, and they were able to save the company's showroom, offices and a single warehouse, KOVR-TV reports. The fire destroyed several other warehouses, as many as four storage units, forklifts and a sawmill.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
