Officials with both the FDNY and NYPD held a press conference to give an update on the huge fire burning in Red Hook, Brooklyn.

Video from WABC 7 shows FDNY Chief of Department John Hodgens telling reporters that they "attempted an interior attack, but the members were overwhelmed by the amount of fire and we had to back all our firefighters out of the building and go to an exterior attack."

Hodgens says three marine fire boats are putting a lot of water onto the deep-seated fire.

FDNY drones were deployed to pinpoint the locations of fire.

Hodgens said three firefighters, three EMS personnel and two civilians were injured.

NYPD officials said evidence stored at the warehouse goes back years but the magnitude of what was destroyed is not yet known.

"What's stored here in particular is we have a lot of biological evidence that's here, we also have some e-bikes, motor vehicles, and we do have a few historic vehicles as well," NYPD Chief Jeffrey Maddrey told reporters.

There are also thousands of NYPD vehicles parked on the connecting pier.
