The 9-1-1 calls and dispatch audio reveal more details about Sunday morning’s house explosion in Weddington.
Union County officials said the blast that was heard for miles Sunday morning left an elderly couple injured.
Just before 9 a.m., a caller, somewhat out of breath and emotional, informing operators that “our neighbor’s house exploded.”
Insulation littered the yard, and plywood landed in trees, QCN reported.
A neighboring house was lifted off its foundation due to the shockwave. Window frames were blown away.
The husband suffered burns while his wife had lacertaions.
Fire officials said the blast was gas-related.
