2-Alarm Fire Breaks Out at Historic Charlotte, NC, School

The Charlotte Fire Department found smoke coming from the roof of the Wilmore Elementary School, which was built 100 years ago.

Charlotte Fire Department firefighters are battling a 2-alarm fire at a historic school in west Charlotte this morning.

Queen City News reported that just before 8 a.m., CFD announced that they were responding to the Wilmore School on West Boulevard.

Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the roof. Soon after, a second alarm went out.

Queen Cith News also reported that this fire comes a little over two weeks after another 2-alarm fire at the former school that was built in 1925.
