Detroit Firefighters Rescue Man Trapped in Fire

March 7, 2025
"I have nothing but gratitude for their quickness," the man's daughter said of Detroit firefighters.

Quick-acting by Detroit firefighters saved the life of an elderly man trapped in a house fire.

But crews said they made entry and found an elderly man trapped in the rear of the home where the fire was active.

Police said the man was transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital Code 1 for smoke inhalation but is now alert and talking.

"Without them getting here as quickly as they did, my dad would be dead...I have nothing but gratitude for their quickness," Pam Adams, the victim's daughter told WDIV.

Her father, being treated for smoke inhalation, is expected to recover.
